~~Clans~~

The Tuchuks do not adhere to the strict structrual format of the Caste System, instead, to
'heriditary Clans'..
first and foremost,
all are 'Warriors'
all are Hunters
all are protectors of the bosk

~~Clan of Singers~~

since not many of the Wagons can read or write, they have a large and complex oral literature...
songs and tales, myth and history... all are kept by and occasionally, in parts, recited by the Camp Singers

~~Clan of Year Keepers~~

those that keep in memory the year names for the Wagon Peoples
sometimes a thousand consecutive names

~~Clan of Healers~~

the Wagon Peoples version of the Caste of Physicians

~~Clan of the Salt Hunters~~

those of the Wagon People whom are responsible for obtaining the needed substance

~~Clan of the Iron Masters~~

those responsible and skilled at piercing ears and noses, branding, and affixing collars to slaves

~~Clan of the Leather Workers~~

Ones who are adept at the final stages of curing the bosk leather hides
ultimately responsible to either produce, or oversee the production of the needed and relied upon articles
for the everyday existance of the Wagon People

~~Clan of Haruspexes~~

Omens are predicted/foretold by the Clan of Haruspexes
a kind of shaman who reads portents and tells the future
one acting as a medium between the visible and spirit worlds; practices sorcery for healing or divination
They often read signs in bosk blood, the livers and entrails of sleen, slaves, and other animals, as well as the wind,
the grass, the flights of birds, and other natural phenomenon

~~Clan of Torturers~~

found only amongst the Tribes of the Wagon Peoples
Their 'work' is considered by some, an 'art form'
trained as carefully as one would a Healer

~~Book BackUps~~

The Wagon Peoples, of all those on Gor that I know, are the only ones that have a Clan of Torturers,
trained as carefully as scribes or physicians, in the arts of detaining life.
pg 9 Nomads of GOR

I heard a haruspex singing between the wagons;
for a piece of meat He would read the wind and the grass;
for a cup of wine, the stars and the flight of birds;
for a fat-bellied dinner, the liver of a sleen or slave. Nomads, page 27

They do have, however, certain Clans, not Castes, which specialize in certain matters,
for example, the Clan of Healers, Leather Workers, Salt Hunters, and so on.
I have already mentioned the Clan of Torturers.
The members of these Clans, however, like the Year Keepers and Singers, are all expected, first and foremost,
to be, as it is said, of the Wagons- namely to follow, tend and protect the bosk,
to be superb in the saddle, and to be skilled in the weapons of both the hunt and the war.
Nomads, page 12

"the women of the wagons peoples, it might be mentioned, are not permitted to pray;
many of them, however, do patronize the haruspexes, who, besides foretelling the future with a greater or lesser degree of accuracy
for generally reasonable fees, provide an incredible assemblage of amulets, talismans, trinkets, philters,
potions, spell papers, wonder working sleen teeth, marvelous powdered kailiauk horns, and colored, magic strings that,
depending on the purpose, may be knotted in various ways and worn about the neck."
Nomads, page 28

the Iron Master affixed a Turian collar. He bent to His tools, taking up a tiny, open gold ring, a heated metal awl, a pair of pliers.
